The Vegetarianism Society of Malaysia is an expat community for non-carnivores. Our members primarily reside in Malaysia, though some have lived there in the past and like to share vegetarian lifestyle tips with our community. Native Malaysians are also totally welcome to participate in our group.
Malaysia, being a Muslim country, does not primarily focus on vegetarianism as a diet choice. That being said, there are many delicious vegetarian options in this beautiful country. Personally, I have found Malaysians very curious about my diet and many of them have gone out their way to accommodate me.
While many of the common Western fake meat options are not available in Malaysia, there are many more traditional (and probably more healthy) options available throughout the country.
We invite you to share recipes, stories, suggestions and anything else that you think our community would enjoy.
